About
Sandscapes Photography ventures where few will dare - the wild frontiers of the Kimberley coastline. Rocky cliffs and out of reach locations are where we thrive. None of the images are digitally enhanced. We hope you are as mesmerised by these images as we are.

Kimberley Coast
The Kimberley coastal rock formations in Western Australia are some of the most unique and visually striking in the world. These formations have been shaped over millions of years by the relentless forces of wind, water, and weather, including powerful storms that have shaped the coastline.
The striking colours are due to the high iron content in the rocks and soil. The iron oxidizes, or rusts, over time, giving the rocks and soil a rich red hue. The combination of the iron-rich soil, the bright sun, and the monsoonal storms of the region result in a vibrant and striking landscape that is unlike anywhere else in the world.

The Kimberley coastline is also rich in other minerals, such as copper and manganese, and other elements that contribute to the vibrant colours of the landscape ensuring the visual kaleidoscope.
The colors of the coastline are constantly changing, as the minerals are exposed and weathered by the elements, creating a dynamic and ever-evolving landscape.
